Dark Angels 1850

As many of you know already Dark Angels have the new fancy storm shields with a 3+ invulnerable save. So this has got me thinking on how I can change my existing Dark Angels army to enjoy a bit more of this happy hammer time.

I've seen some pretty radical lists floating out there with in the neighborhood of 25+ thunder hammer & storm shield terminators, and with cyclone missile launchers. And for me that is just too much shooting to give up, those storm bolters aren't much, but when your already out number your army can't simply for go the shooting phase.

Here is the list I plan on trying out:


Belial: Sword of Silence and Storm Bolter
Deathwing Terminators x5: Assault Cannon, 4 Power Fists, 3 Storm Bolters, 1 Thunder Hammer & Storm Shield
Deathwing Terminators x5: Assault Cannon, 4 Power Fists, 3 Storm Bolters, 1 Thunder Hammer & Storm Shield
Deathwing Terminators x5: Assault Cannon, 4 Power Fists, 3 Storm Bolters, 1 Thunder Hammer & Storm Shield
Dreadnought: Assault Cannon, Dreadnought CCW & Storm Bolter
Dreadnought: Assault Cannon, Dreadnought CCW & Storm Bolter
Dreadnought: Assault Cannon, Dreadnought CCW & Storm Bolter
Tactical Squad x10: Lascannon & Plasmagun, Sergeant w/ BP and Power Fist
   Rhino
Tactical Squad x5: Meltagun, Sergeant w/ BP and Power Fist
   Razorback: Twin-linked Heavy Bolter
Tactical Squad x5: Meltagun, Sergeant w/ BP and Power Fist
   Razorback: Twin-linked Heavy Bolter

With the small change of weapons on the sergeants in the terminator squads, the model that is often pulled as the first casualty will now be the units last line of defense. I know I'm looking forward to testing it out.
