Ork Waaagh

"Capturing the Might of My Ork Army: A Journey to Create the Ultimate WAAAGH Photo"

As a lifelong fan of Warhammer 40,000, my Ork army has always held a special place in my heart. Over the years, I have dedicated countless hours to painting and assembling these miniatures, and I am now the proud owner of a massive collection that spans thousands of points.

But there is one thing that has always eluded me: the ultimate WAAAGH photo. This is the photo that captures the full might and power of my Ork army, showcasing every painted miniature in a single, epic shot.

And so, I have set myself the goal of making this dream a reality. On March 20, 2023, I plan to embark on an epic quest to photograph my entire Ork collection for the ultimate WAAAGH photo.

I know this won't be an easy task. With over 10,000 points worth of miniatures, it will likely take me a couple of days to set up, photograph, and put away everything. I also have three young boys who are all under 5 years old, and who have a tendency to get into everything. But I am determined to make this happen, even if it means setting up in the guest bedroom and praying that no one decides to drop by unexpectedly.

Of course, there is another deadline looming over my head: the release of 10th edition. I want to make sure that I get the photos taken before the new edition comes out, so that I can showcase my Ork army in all its current glory.

But the rewards will be well worth the effort. Not only will I be able to create the ultimate WAAAGH photo, but I will also be able to finally calculate the full point value of my collection. And of course, I will share the photos with the world, so that other Warhammer fans can appreciate the might and power of the Ork horde.

This will be an epic journey, but I am excited to take it on. Stay tuned for updates on my progress, and for the final reveal of the ultimate WAAAGH photo.

Memory Lane - Adepticon 2023

As the date for Adepticon 2023 approaches, I find myself getting increasingly nostalgic about the times gone by. Every year, I revisit this blog, and it has turned into a time capsule of sorts, documenting my 40k hobby and my trips to Adepticon with my friends.

This year, we're going back to Adepticon again. Although we don't all live in the same state anymore, it's our one opportunity a year to get together like old times. As I look back at the memories of all those garage games of 40k in the midwest winter, freezing our butts off trying to get some practice in before Adepticon, I can't help but feel grateful for those times. They were formative experiences that helped us bond as a group, and they're memories that I'll cherish forever.

Thanks to the Adepticon archive, I was able to figure out that this will be my 11th Adepticon. It's crazy to think that I've been doing this for so long, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Sure, I missed a few Adepticons in there because of random life events, but for the most part, this tradition since 2007 has lived on.

There's something special about Adepticon. It's more than just a gaming convention. It's a place where like-minded people can come together, share their love for the hobby, and make lasting memories. For me, Adepticon has been a constant in my life. No matter where I am or what I'm doing, I know that I'll always have this one week in the year where I can escape and be with my friends.

As I prepare for Adepticon 2023, I can't help but wonder what memories we'll make this time. Will we try out a new game? Will we finally win a team tournament? Will we get lost on the way to the convention center like we always do? Whatever happens, I know that it'll be another chapter in the story of our Adepticon journey.

In closing, I want to say that if you're thinking about going to Adepticon, do it. It's an experience that you won't forget. You'll make new friends, learn new things, and have a great time. And who knows, maybe you'll start a tradition of your own that you'll look back on fondly in the years to come.

Revisiting the Deffkopta to Buggy Conversion

As Warhammer 40,000 continues to evolve and change, it's always fun to look back at some of our favorite conversions from previous editions. For me, that means revisiting my Deffkopta to Buggy conversion, which I am still incredibly proud of to this day.

With the recent release of the newest Ork codex and the arrival of a plastic Deffkopta box set, it was the perfect time to revisit this beloved project. And while the conversion itself is simple to reproduce and replicate, I wanted to make sure to preserve the tutorial for future reference. That's why I've pinned it to the top of my blog page, where it will be safe and easily accessible.

In fact, revisiting the tutorial has inspired me to take things even further and convert some Deffkoptas into four-wheeled bikes (since buggies are now considered Legends units). Who knows what other new projects will come from this trip down memory lane?

So here's to another few years until the next time we feel the urge to revisit our favorite conversions. In the meantime, let's keep the Waaagh going strong!

Awesome Paint Job Was Recipe

Awesome Paint Job wash recipe is something I've been using for a few years now and they work great. They have greatly improved the appearance of my painting.

I'm reposting the link to this to my (seldom updated) blog so that in 2-3 years (I made a big bottle) when I run out again I will be able find it again easier.

Hope this helps anyone who runs across it, it's helped me.
